UKIPO Launches IP Support Scheme To Aid Post-Pandemic Recovery

 

In a new scheme launched to help business to grow and build back after the challenges of the Covid pandemic, the Government will pay up to £5,000 to help SMEs and innovative businesses to protect and commercialise their IP.

The IP Access grants is an extension of the UKIPO IP Audits Plus programme which is intended to provide businesses with the funding it requires to move forward with the recommendation provided in the IP Audit. These costs include:

  • The management of IP assets
  • Commercialisation of IP
  • Licensing and franchising agreements
  • IP insurance
  • IP valuation
  • Tax relief advice
  • Professional fees for IP services in the UK and abroad

It cannot be used for the official fees for filing trade mark, registered design or patent applications.

Any company who has completed an IP Audit with an IP audit plus partner, between April 2020 and March 2022 are eligible to apply. Applications are now open and will remain open until 12pm on 31 March 2022.
