Fiona qualified originally as a linguist, obtaining an honours degree in French and German from the highly-rated interpreter and translator school at Heriot-Watt University.

She began her career with a Scottish electronics manufacturer, liaising with clients primarily in France and Germany, including a number of household retail brands, to demonstrate and oversee the sales of cash counting equipment.

Fiona then began a translator role with a global firm of patent and trade mark attorneys, specialising in the translation of patent, trade mark, legal and commercial documentation. She progressed within the firm to take on senior business development, marketing and communications roles, and developed a particular specialism in client proposals and bid management.

Before joining Cameron Intellectual Property, Fiona worked in a senior business development and marketing role for a top ten Scottish law firm, focusing in particular on developing the firm’s external communications strategy (especially in the area of AV content, including webinars, videos and podcasts) and international client liaison strategy.
